5 Inspiring Things | Oh Snap Photo Edition

>> Wednesday, February 8

Welcome to 10 Inspiring Things, a Wednesday blog feature showcasing carefully curated and inspiring links from across the interwebs to help get you through the week. Enjoy! This week I've only got 5 things, (I've got a newborn, okay?)  but each of them are equally awesome and all of them have one thing in common: photography...

1. Love Ever After // Ready to get teary eyed? AMAZING Photographer Lauren Fleishman is working on a personal project starring couples married over 50 years. Her goal is a finished book showcasing these couples and their stories. It's a bit like When Harry Met Sally, but with more talk of soldiers and the war. You can support the project by checking out her kickstarter page or just browse through the images and accompanying stories on her website.

2. Close Up Portraits of Identical Twins // Photographer, Martin Schoeller took these images for National Geographic. I love how the simple close up shows the subtle differences. I think it's all in the eyes. What do you think? Can you tell them apart?

3. Iconic Images and the Photographers who took them // So many times we'll see a famous photograph and immediately recognize it. But how many of us can name or even recognize the artist who created it? I love these gorgeous portraits of photographers posing with their most iconic images. So simple but so striking. I will say I'm sad that only 2 women were included, but whatevs Wired.

4. Feet First // I'm so sad I didn't think of this because it's such a cute idea. This couple has been taking photos of their feet during their travels documenting their life in a creative way. Over time the photos have grown to include another set of feet- their daughters. So cute.

5. Unintended Consequences (or "why you shouldn't take photos of yourself on Apple store devices, bozo".) // So this photographer, Irby Pace, has gone to Apple stores all over the place and emailed himself the images that strangers have taken on themselves and left on the devices. He's collected over 1000 and is now displaying them in a gallery exhibition called "Unintended Consequences". I think it's hilarious.

haha I like to look through digital cameras at stores to see what pics people took! Yeah, about the twins, the eyes are definitely different.

What a great round-up! I never wanted this post to end.
Ps; Unintended Consequences is hilarious. My fave is that Jersey Shore looking kid.
