Coffee Cup Chats | Some Pep For Your Step

>> Monday, February 13

Happy Monday friends! I put together a bit of a motivational speech for you. Feel free to add to it in the comments section. Let's build up a pep talk for each other. Grab some caffeine. Because sometimes the going gets tough...

Because owning and running your own business has a rhythm. If you do it long enough, that is. It's a hustle and a flow. Things will come. And then things won't come. And then months will go by without things coming. And you hustle. And you try not to cry. And you try not to look at Craigslist ads for crappy part time jobs. Because you've got a dream.

So what do you do when the going gets tough?

Keep going.

There are times in life to give up. Sometimes a dream has to die. This is not one of those times.

Set a timer for 2 minutes. Allow yourself to freak out for just that long. DING DING DING. Now move on. And up. And above. Rise above it.

Keep going. Don't stop.

Make a playlist of songs that get you pumped up. Play it loud. On repeat. Now louder. Now sing!

Dream it again. Dream it bigger. Look fear in the face and tell it to back the eff off. Decide to be one of the success stories. Decide to make it through. Keep going.

Write it all out. Strategize. Make that call. Ask.

 Keep going. Don't stop. Hustle.

Decide to be a success story. Take a good hard look at yourself and your situation. What first step can you take today. Write it down, now get it done.

Luck favors the bold. Do something, anything. Get energy flowing. To you. From you. To others. Give back. Give a lot. Invest in your own karma.

Keep going. Don't stop.

It may not get better today. It may not get better tomorrow. But keep going. Because this is not one of those situations where it's best to throw in the towel. This is not that time. Tomorrow is not that time either. Believe it. We believe in you.

Keep going.

xo,
Becka

I look forward to the coffee cup chats, and todays was a perfect fit! Incredible motivation in a simplistic form! I think that we should allow ourselves 5 minutes a day to be angry and frustrated, and then MOVE on. Like Elizabeth Taylor said, "Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together."
I have been doing a 'dream big' series every Monday where different bloggers write about their dreams, I am hoping they inspire people and show people to never give up!

Becka! Girl, you're speaking the truth. It is an absolute decision to not quit. Been feeling like this recently, BUT decided that rather than looking at where others are and focusing on what I don't have or where I am not, I will focus on the details of my goals. Because eventually, my dream WILL come true. So, thanks for posting this! It is really encouraging!

Spoken like a true entrepreneur! Been "keepin' on going" for 4 years now. "Things will come. And then things won't come. And then months will go by without things coming. And you hustle. And you try not to cry. And you try not to look at Craigslist ads for crappy part time jobs. Because you've got a dream." You grabbed that straight outta my heart. Thanks, I really needed this Monday motivation today...

I needed this today. Even though I feel like I just started {about six months ago}, things went really fast at the beginning, and now I'm in a definite lull. Trying to get through it is hard, but it's good to know that I'm not alone :) Thank you.

xoxo,
Joelle
