Is Beachbody Coaching Legit? | My First 4 Figure Week

11 months ago we had credit cards that were maxed out and we couldn't afford to pay anything more than our minimum payments on them each month. 11 months ago we were worried about how we'd be able to afford to see our family for the holidays. 11 months ago we were 1 unforeseen expense away from a bad situation. 11 months ago I was stressed out and depressed and hated my body and felt miserable in it. 11 months ago I decided that enough was enough.

It's now officially August. Which means it's my coach-iversary month! I signed up last August and started my own journey to health and happiness and financial progress. I had no idea how quickly or how slowly my journey was going to go. In fact, I was completely skeptical of the whole thing. Little did I know that I had started on a road that would DRAMATICALLY change my life in less than a year.

If you would have told me 11 months ago that this August I would be 129 pounds, wearing a size 4, feeling incredible and vibrant I would have laughed in your face. Actually, that's not true. I would have probably burst into inconsolable tears. Because I had lost hope completely. I thought I'd NEVER feel good in my own skin again. That is a dark place to be you guys. If you are reading this, and you look in the mirror and don't recognize yourself, if you wake up each morning feeling exhausted and sad and getting dressed each day makes you want to give up and get back into bed, I am here for you. I know exactly how you feel because I LIVED that for years. And let me be the first to tell you with 100% conviction that you don't have to feel that way forever. YOU can dig yourself out from that hole. Will it happen overnight? No. Will it be easy? Nope. Will you want to quit? Probably. But you won't. Because you'll start to see little bits of progress and they'll light a tiny ember in your heart that will fuel a raging fire of hope as you go. But back to the reason for this post...

If you would have told me 11 months ago that this August we'd have ZERO consumer debt I'd have looked at you like you were crazy. "Oh yeah?" I would have asked. "And is Jack and his giant beenstalk going to sell me some magic money tree beans too?" I would snicker at you with contempt. Because I saw no way out. I felt like we were destined to work our asses off and never get ahead. Isn't this how so many of us feel? It sucks. But it's not the truth. It feels like truth, but there is a way out!

Network marketing can be a strange business to get into. Everyone seems to have an opinion on this industry and the type of people who are in it. But... network marketing is an incredible thing! Why? Because it is based on helping people. At least that's how Beachbody works. Your success and your income is a DIRECT REFLECTION on how many other people you help to achieve their own goals. So not only do you get rewarded with success but also with the deep personal satisfaction of knowing that your time is spent making a positive difference to someone. (GIRLBOSSing digression: Network marketing is one of the only places where women earn DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR what mean earn doing the same jobs.)

I have been a coach for just shy of a year now. And a year ago I set a goal for myself. It was a bold goal. (But I'm not known for my timidity in goal setting, am I now?) I set a goal to be earning 4 figures a week by my 1 year coach-iversary. And last week, my dear friends, I had my first 4 figure week. Why is this such a big deal? Because I consider that sort of income, a full time income. So is Beachbody coaching legit? Me and my zero balances on my credit cards say YES. ;)

25 Thoughts I Have During 25 Minutes of T25

T25 was the workout that started it all for me last August! That's right, I dove right in with Shaun T, one of the most intense trainers out there. I jumped and squatted and sweated my way into a healthier lifestyle that has changed my WHOLE LIFE over the last year. Well, T25 is on sale again this month (HOLLA!) so in honor of that I thought I'd share with you 25 thoughts that go through my mind during the 25 minute workouts with Shaun T....

1. Do I need to be wearing shoes for this?
2. What about pants? I mean, I am at home. I don't have to wear pants at home, right?
3. Oh man, they are all super fit. And wearing shoes. And pants.
4. Where did that blonde girl get that cute white sports bra? I need it!
5. Oh look at that fun little time ticker there at the bottom. This is gonna fly by...
6. Oh! We're starting. Okay, this isn't so bad.
7. My hip flexors are already burning, is that bad?
8. OH MY GOD MY HIP FLEXORS!
9. How long do I have left? WHAT?!?! 23 minutes?!
10. Oh squats, I can do squats. No problem! SQEEZE!
11. What? Now I have to jump between squats? You must be on crack Shaun T!
12. How on Earth does that tiny asian girl jump so high?
13. Man her abs are incredible.
14. I wonder if my abs will ever look that good. Engage the core. Engage the core!
15. I don't think I've ever been this sweaty in my life.
16. Is this move over yet? This is the longest minute in the history of the world!
17. OMG There's a whole other side!
18. Shut up Shaun T! I hate you and your beautiful biceps.
19.  I feel like I'm gonna throw up.

MAKE | Paleo Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Spiced Mug Cake


I remember reading somewhere advice from a holistic nutritionist to one of his patients who was battling some severe junk food cravings. So bad, that the person was having a hard time sticking with their healthy program. And the nutritionist said, "You can have all the junk food you want, if you make it yourself." It suck with me because obviously anything you make yourself is going to be less junky than what you would pick up at a fast food restaurant or even the grocery store and it got me thinking... "Would I be willing to actually be willing to make my junk foods from scratch?" It's a lot harder to go in the kitchen and whip up some ice cream from scratch than it is to run through the Chick Fil A drive through. What about french fries? Am I going to bust out a fryer every time I have a craving? The answer is no. I'm not willing to. So I must not really want it that bad. 

Last night though I wanted something sweet and chocolatey. After perusing pinterest I was craving cake like crazy (does this happen to anyone else?!) but I knew that cake is not really paleo friendly so I got to thinking... could I adapt a MUG CAKE recipe to be paleo friendly and somewhat healthy? 

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

I found a few mug cake recipes I liked and decided to play off a really simple one that used a flour, an egg, some cocoa, a sweetener, and some flavorings. Brilliant. Off to the pantry I went and two attempts later, this gorgeous creation of heavenly chocolate divinity appeared. It's so easy you're going to be shocked you haven't been making mug cakes all your life. Mug cakes are basically a small single-serving of cake baked right in a mug in your microwave. Here's what you'll need...


INGREDIENTS:
➳ 1.5 TBS Almond meal/almond flour
➳ 1 (heaping) TBS High Quality Cocoa Powder
➳ 10 drops Liquid Stevia (or you could use honey or coconut sugar to taste)
➳ 1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract
➳ 1 egg (the best quality you can find because that's what you should be doing with your eggs anyway)
➳ 1 TBS almond milk
➳ 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice (aka cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice)

Optional: To "ice" your cake I suggest Justin's Hazelnut Chocolate butter (think "nutella") and a sprinkle of coconut flakes.

METHOD:
Comibe all ingredients in a mug. Whip together with a fork till combined well (about 30 seconds). Microwave for 1.5-2 minutes till all the liquid is gone. Top immediately with your toppings so they melt a bit into the cake and enjoy warm!

You can also make a few extra servings of the dry ingredients and put them in little baggies for quick access "cake mix" later! Cheat clean my friends!


On the 21 Day Fix plan this cake roughly equivalents to 1/2 Red, 1 Yellow, 2 Blue (if you use the hazelnut spread), 1 Orange (if you top with coconut). Curious about the 21 Day Fix?
