PERSONAL | It's Official! I'm Retired Thanks To Beachbody Coaching!!!

I have literally started this post 50 times and stopped because I cannot figure out the words! It is with extreme excitement that I announce that Nate and I are officially RETIRED!!!!

After 8 years of hard work, 175 weddings across the United States and Europe, over a million photos taken between us, roughly 20,000 hours of shooting time, and about 10 times that sitting behind a computer in editing time... we are hanging up our wedding gear and leaving the wedding industry to be a FULL TIME COACHING FAMILY!!!!

It's bittersweet to say goodbye to weddings. My photography business was my first baby. I poured everything I had into it! It helped me survive a very dark time in my life. It gave me a purpose and a creative outlet. But as our lives grew, our family grew, and our priorities grew, it just wasn't the best fit for us to both be full time shooters. The biggest point of tension was the fact that our income was so dependent on both Nathan and myself being gone to shoot. Those long hours with both of us away were logistically very difficult for childcare. And as our son grew, we could tell it was hard for him. And watching it be hard for him was hard for us. The breaking point, for me, came when after receiving a toy camera as a gift he excitedly turned to us and said, "Now I can come with you to work and take pictures! You don't have to leave me behind!" Cue the broken heart!!!! I decided in that moment that I wanted a different life for our family. We shot our last wedding a few days ago and celebrated in our hotel room after with champagne and cheesecake and cheersed to the end of one chapter and the continuation of another for our family!

Happy tears and a wave goodbye and we are on to new adventures! It's been two and a half years of dedication, consistency, big vision, and hard work as I've built a new career as a Beachbody coach. About 6 months in we saw the potential to be able to step away from weddings and made a plan. We stopped accepting new weddings when I had gotten halfway to matching our photography income with my coaching income. And now, as we officially step away from the world of weddings we are beyond blown away to be leaving the world of weddings bringing in FOUR times our previous photography income because of coaching!!! And we are able to do it together, on our own schedules, not having to sacrifice our time together. Coaching is not just a hobby or a weight loss trend to our family. While yes it has helped both Nate and I to get healthier, that is just a fraction of the good it's brought into our lives! It is our family's vehicle to pursue our biggest dreams, to be able to be TOGETHER full time and not have to be trading family time for money at work. As coaches we are able to work remotely, for a company that supports family in big ways so that when we do need to travel for coaching events, Cadence is able to come with us instead of being left behind.

I made a video over the course of the weekend of our last wedding. I definitely awkwardly cry during it and my voice gets uncomfortably high. I'm not wearing any makeup because it was such a busy weekend between getting the RV ready, traveling for our last wedding, and life. But I didn't want that to stop me from capturing the significance of it all so here you go...

When we first started weddings, we made it a tradition to dance for a minute or two at every reception. And Nate pulled me onto the dance floor at the end of our last wedding this past Saturday for one last dance and thankfully a past bride of ours was there to snap a photo for us! A final dance and a big HUG and with that we are officially RETIRED!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, taught me, and participated with me in this coaching dream come true! This is just the beginning! I can't wait to continue helping people with their goals, teaching them how to build successful coaching businesses, and getting to pay forward this INCREDIBLE feeling to as many other families as possible! If that's you, please contact me so we can talk more about coaching and I can talk to you more about how I can help you build a successful coaching business that supports your family and your dreams too!
