My Life-Changing Ultimate Reset Results And Why You Should Immediately Do It Too


I did it! I finished the Ultimate Reset! I've started and quit this cleanse twice in the past. It's always intimidated me. But after hitting a wall with my nutrition, feeling a little stuck and bored, I knew I needed to do something to snap me back onto the right path and I went all in and decided that come hell or high water I was going to finish this thing! AND I DID!

If you've been following me on Facebook or Instagram then you've probably already seen me posting about it but if not, the Ultimate Reset is a 21 day cleanse from Beachbody that is focused on getting your insides healthy. I know most people get nervous when they read the word "cleanse" but this is not something where you'll be living on lemonade and running to the bathroom all day every day. This is a gentle and very intuitive nutrition plan aimed to help you increase your energy, have better digestion and weight loss, and improved mood! To break it down really simply... this cleanse is about getting your insides in shape just like workouts get your outsides in shape!

It's a three week program. In week one you reclaim your body preparing it for change. You’ll cut out sugar and processed foods and gradually remove foods such as red meat and dairy from your diet. In week two you begin to release unwanted compounds that have been holding your system back and start the detoxification process. This phase includes a gentle colon cleanse and digestive support. DON’T WORRY you won’t be running to the toilet. I promise! This is gentle cleanse and you'll still be eating three regular meals plus snacks. At this point though, you'll be fully vegan. Week three is where you’ll help restore your digestive system along with other internal processes to maximum efficiency, putting nutrients, enzymes, and pre-and probiotics back into your body.

Okay so enough about the technical stuff... how did I like it?
I LOVED it. Now I didn't necessarily love every minute of it. My husband ate pizza in front of me in week 1. In week 2 I was super tired as my body released the toxins and cleaned itself out. And in week three I wondered how I'd be able to go a whole week without any grains or meat. BUT... something can be a challenge and still be awesome. And that's exactly how I'd describe this program!

I polled on social media what questions everyone had about my experience and wanted to share some answers to the most popular questions below!

One of the most asked questions I got was about the food. If I was hangry. What type of food I ate. What my favorite meals were. How I decided what food to eat. Etc.


The answer might surprise you. As you can see from this collage, I was not hurting in the food department. The coolest thing about this program is that your food is all planned for you. You don't have to come up with mealplans or recipes. It literally has every meal written out each day and recipes for how to make it and how much to eat. So you just follow along! It's all super easy and a novice cook can do it!

I thought I'd really dislike the food. But I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it! I have a bunch of favorite recipes from the reset that I'll be adding into my rotation now that I'm post-reset! One of my favorites was the creamy zucchini soup! I shared about it on my blog here. I also really loved the sweet potato and broccoli dinner you see above and that lentil pilaf up in the collage as well! I was not hangry. The hardest time I had was in week 2, when we took out all animal protein. It was just an adjustment. But I really enjoyed the meals I was having. There were a few I didn't love but it was a great learning experience. I also noticed my tastes changed! As I took out the processed foods, dairy, chemicals, and extras my tastes got more intense. Fruit tasted sweet as candy! Dinners tasted so savory! I started craving very pure things like sweet potato and fruit and my cravings for things like ice cream and pizza went away!

The 2nd most popular question I got was how much did all the food cost and how hard was it to prep? I didn't track my expenses. I did run to the store about twice a week because I thought prepping for an entire week would be too overwhelming so I only prepped three days at a time and that was much easier for me! Plus I never had to worry about my food going bad. The ingredients are not super expensive because they are mostly just fruits and veggies! And I would prep some of the things that were used the most like lentils or quinoa and then measure out what I needed for individual recipes each day. In the reset booklet it even tells you which foods to prep ahead of time each week. I'm telling you guys... it's all spelled out for you so perfectly!

The third most popular question I got was did I miss working out? Honest answer? No. I don't like to work out all that much. I do it because I know it's good for me and I feel good after. So it was a really nice break! I loved that I wasn't supposed to work out so I didn't have to feel any guilt about not doing it. In week 1 I got up and moving more because I was actually feeling so energized and great. I went on walks, did some yoga, and even danced to country heat with my 4 year old! Week 2 I was dead on my feet. So tired as my body did all the hard work of detoxing. So I rested a lot and gave myself grace. Week three I felt good but being limited to just fruits and vegetables (no grains or animal protein in week 3) I didn't want to push it and burn up all my energy. Walks were my mains source of movement and some simple stretching. Honestly, I went into this cleanse with the intention to be intuitive with my body and it's needs and to listen. So often we are always forcing our body to do things it doesn't want to do.... overworking, not enough rest, caffeine to keep going, shit food because we're rushed, etc. So I wanted to listen to it and go with it. That's why I moved in week one and rested in week 2. I did what I felt I needed and it was a really cool experience. Now that I'm post-reset doing the maintenance plan I feel like moving again, so I am!

MY OFFICIAL RESULTS FROM THE ULTIMATE RESET:
It's pretty clear from my before and after photo that weight loss was a big result of my reset. I was surprised that I lost 9 pounds. I was not expecting that big of a loss and it was definitely exciting since I struggle with Hashimotos which makes it difficult for me to lose weight. But that was not the biggest result I experienced.

For me, the biggest result was a mental one! This has completely changed the way I eat and the way I think about nutrition. I haven't been this excited about nutrition in years! It helped me break some negative food cycles I was in and gave me an incredible base of tools and recipes to be able to continue incorporating in my normal life! I fully intend to scale back the animal protein I eat and to kick dairy to the curb. I want to continue eating this way even though the cleanse is over and I don't technically have to!

Energy and clarity have been huge as well! I have struggled with my sleep patterns for a long time. Routinely staying up till 3 and 4am and not being able to go to sleep. And when it came time to wake up, feeling groggy and sick and having no energy for hours. Now I start to get tired hours earlier and I'm falling asleep closer to 1 and able to wake up and feel ready for my day instead of feeling exhausted.

What's next you ask?

Well, I'm now into maintenance mode... a three week process of slowly adding things back in. But I'm planning on pretty much living this way from now on! And I'm so excited to help you complete the reset as well! Next month I'll be leading a small group of people who want to commit to the Ultimate Reset through the program. We'll have a private group where you'll have 24/7 access to me and the other participants and I'll be sharing all my tips and we'll all be encouraging each other!
